Meetings and Programs
Meetings are held on the first Friday of every month. We meet at 10:00 AM at the Grove Community Center, Room 6, located at 104 W. 3rd Street in Grove, Oklahoma. We currently have over 90 members. Membership is open to everyone and annual dues are $20. We invite interested people to attend a monthly meeting as our guest to learn more about us.

This month’s meeting will feature two speakers. Judi Leberman will show us how to square up a quilt and how to make a hanging sleeve in preparation for our quilt show in October. Vicky Longacre has been busy making aprons for our quilt show. She will share her cute handiwork and tips on how she made them.

April 7. 2023 – My Sewing Machine Doesn’t Like My Thread!
If you have ever said this phrase, the April 7th meeting is for you! Mary Fisher, a former Handi Quilter Educator and Superior Threadologist will help us understand the needs of thread, how to use them, and what specific techniques allow us to be most successful, even with fussy threads! She will discuss batting, thread, needles, and what choices lead to the most success in our quilting’sewing endeavors.

Simple Quilting Projects to be Offered
The March 3 meeting will help prepare us for the quilt show in October. There will be discussion on what it takes to produce a quilt show. As a special bonus, several members will demonstrate simple projects that could be made for the Boutique Booth at the show or for presents or personal enjoyment. Projects will include kid’s quilts, place mats, pin cushions, burrito pillow cases, gift card holders, trivets and Christmas ornaments. Members and guests are encouraged to attend.
